The Mysterious Benedict Society

"ARE YOU A GIFTED CHILD LOOKING FOR SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES?" Such was the newspaper add that started the adventure in The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. Reynie Muldoon, along with dozens of other children, enroll to take a series of crazy, mysterious, and mind-bending tests. Because of the difficulty of these tests, only four children pass and get a chance to experience the "special opportunities." Although these opportunities are different and much more dangerous than the children expected, everyone has faith in these children and their gifts. But will these gifts be enough to save their lives, and the lives of others?

I really enjoyed The Mysterious Benedict Society. It was interesting, funny, and very exiting. The book is easy reading, so even though the book is over 400 pages, it's not hard to read it quickly. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to read, and I give it a 7 out of 10.

Fat Vampire

This wasn't the best book i've ever read. It was honestly kind of boring. It did have a good story line but he took too long to uncover it. Adam is a new vampire and is totally confused, he doesn't burn in the sun, he is stuck overweight, and he isn't insanely gorgeous. Everything he thought about vampires was totally wrong. This is a story of how Adam learns the world of vampires. When someone tries to kill his friend he must take action and kill the vampire for almost killing his friend.

Party

This book tells the events of one party from eleven peoples points of view. Each person goes to the party for different reasons but in the end all their stories come together. Friendships are ruined and brought together, lives are almost lost but brought back. This is one crazy party, but it ends when the police show up. Each character is different in there own way and each is struggling with a huge problem.

Deception

This book is an extremely good book! It tells the events of a girl who's parents disappear and live her home alone for months. Weird things happen to her and she doesn't know why. Soon child protective services take her and her brothers college friend becomes her legal guardian. She has to move across country, and there she discovers she is a ghost keeper. After she discovers this her life gets even more complicated, soon she doesn't know who to trust. The one thing I didn't like about this book was that it didn't have a real ending to tie it all together it just ended.

At first they tried to find a way to leave, but after they had many adventures learning about Dinotopia until they decided that they no longer wanted to leave.

Talking to Dragons

This is the final book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles! I really loved this series and the final book was just as good and maybe even better then the rest!
One day a wizard shows up at Daystar's house and tries to kill his mom, Cimorene, but she melts him easily. Then she gives Daystar a magic sword and tells him not to come back until he knows why he had to leave. It takes a fire-witch with a bad temper and a runaway baby dragon for Daystar to discover who he is and what he is meant to do.

The Wanderer

The Wanderer by Sharon Creech is the intriguing tale of a teenage girl named Sophie. After much effort on her part, she is able to beg her way onto a voyage with her adoptive mother's three brothers and two nephews. The group then sails across the ocean to England in a 45 foot long boat to visit the uncles' father, Bompie. While en-route, Sophie tells the others Bompie's stories, which everyone finds very strange. How can Sophie know the stories of a man she never met? How is it that she thinks that her adoptive parents are her real parents, and that Bompie is her grandfather? Does anyone even know what happened to her biological parents? Told through the journals of Sophie and her "cousin" Cody, The Wanderer depicts the happening of the voyage that will either make them a family, or kill them all.

This book is very real and exciting. The author does a good job of making the characters real. By the end of the book I loved every one of them. One of my favorite parts of this book is how it encourages you to be yourself, even when other people try to make you change. Acceptance, self confidence, family, and love are some of the main themes in this book. I really enjoyed this book, and I give it an 8 out of 10. You should read it!

The Outsiders

The Outsiders: Written By S.E Hinton.
This is a very interesting book. It is the type of book that I would enjoy reading repeatedly.
This book is told from the point of view from the main character Ponyboy. Who explains his life living with his two brothers and the seperation between the Greasers and the Socs. He meets a Soc Named Cherry who doesn't agree very much with the seperation of the two because one is more wealthy than the other. They bond but in the end there is still seperation. A classic Love story with a twist.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

Shiver is a book by a Maggie Stiefvater. I liked this book but its not my favorite. It was about a teenage girl name Grace and how she falls in love with a Werewolf named Sam. This book shows how they fell in love even when he wasnt human. I give this book 2 stars out of 5.

SHIVER

SHIVER is a book that was written by Maggie Stiefvater. This book is narrated by two different characters: Sam & Grace. At a young age, Grace was attacked by the wolves and lived. She now obsesses over them. She watches to see her favorite wolf in the woods behind her house. She wants to talk & think about nothing but. Sam is a wolf. He watches Grace from the woods. Every night, except for when the weather is warm. That's when he's human. This was a pretty good book. Definitely not one of my favorites, but still, a good read.

The Edge Chronicles: Midnight Over Sanctaphrax (book 3)

This book is by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell. In this book Twig and his crew look like shooting stars as they fall out of the sky. Peices of thier sky ship are being thrown all around and they fall to the ground in Undertown. The professor of darkness finds Twig in the Stone Gardens and brings him back to his study. The professor tries to get Twig to tell him what happened, but Twig just cant remember. Twig then meets a boy named Cowlquape and asks him to become his apprentice for the professor said that Twig was to take the place of being the new professor of light. He tries to go out and fing the rest of his crew when the professor tells him that there were eight other "stars" that fell out of the sky just like Twig. Twig then sets off with Cowlquape to find his crew. But for some reason, evrytime Twig finds one of his crew members, he begins to glow. In the meantime the mind storm that Twig lost his father in is getting stronger. It is so powerful now that people are starting to fight for no reason because of the brain washing mist and rain that fall from its clouds. As Twig travels through the Twilight woods and the Deepwoods, he comes across a woodtroll trail. He followed it all the way to the village he grew up in and greets his adopted mother, but also finds out his adopted father is dead. He then finds Woodfish and follows him to the legendary Riverrise! When they reach there, he finds out what his father told him to remember...................... He had to cut the chain that kept Sanctaphrax in place or the mind storm (mother storm) would never get to rejuvinate the Edge Lands waters! If the mind storm cant rejuvinate the Edge Lands water then everyone will die!!!

Queen Cimorene has her first adventure as a queen when King Mendanbar's magic sword is stolen. It was the wizards that stole it (of course) and only a member the royal family can carry it back. She sets out on this adventure with Morwen the wicth, Telemain the magican, Kazul the dragon king, two cats, and a floating-flying-insubtaintal-blue-constanly hungry-donkey-rabbit with oversized wings named Killler.
THIS BOOK IS SO FUNNY!

The Serpent's Tooth Mystery

This mystery began early one morning at Bayport's Zoo. Joe and Frank Hardy's friend Phil, who was working at the zoo, invited them to see the zoo's newest addition – an Australian Tiger Snake. Before they got to see the snake, it went missing, along with several other poisonous snakes, venom, and anti-venom. Not only that, but the world famous herpetologist, Dr. Harrod Michaels appears to have been bitten by it and is in critical condition. All of the clues lead to Phil as being the thief, but naturally, Joe and Frank discover the real thieves, who include Dr. Michael's assistant. They also figured out that Dr, Michaels wasn't bit by the Tiger snake, but was hit with a dart filled with poisonous venom milked from a different snake. This is one of the later Hardy Boys books which is written in a different style and with more action than the original books.

I am David

I am David by Anne Holm is the gripping tale of a 12 year old boy named David. After being kept in a concentration camp for most of his life, David is helped to escape, and told to head north to Denmark and freedom. But because he had been in captivity so long, David did not know about many normal things that we take for granted. Because the only food he could remember eating was dry bread and oatmeal, David did not know what foods were safe to eat. And because the concentration camp was such a sad, dreary place, David did not know how to smile. But even through all of this, David has a spirit of courtesy and decency that no one would have expected. On his journey, he learns to enjoy life, to revere beauty, and even falls in love.

Although this book was originally written for children ages 9-13, it is a tale that holds inspiration and lessons for people of any age. For example, David's simple faith and trust in God, even though he'd never been taught about them, were encouraging to me. On a scale of 1-10 I give this book an 8, and I say that you must read it!

Myth Directions, third in a series by Robert Asprin. Skeeve and Tanda, a demon, go dimension hopping for a birthday present for Aahz. They find the perfect gift, a statue rare and grotesque. The job is court magician, that is what they know, what they don't know is that they have to stop an invading army. So Skeeve and Aahz must head to the dimension of Deva to hire a defense force.
Another great book with a suprising ending.

Now, not only must she train with Raul, Kel is stuck with feeding and bathing a temperamental griffin who would rather bite her fingers. So Aahz, also a magician, who is without his powers decides to take Skeeve on as his apprentice. This is the first in a series of extremely funny books, that I would recommend to anyone.

She must now survive her four years of training to finish her big exams and finally become a squire, the last stage of becoming a knight.
