Every August two big city kids from Chicago go to visit their Grandma in some hick town. Though the town is small the adventure that they find with their larger-than life Grandma is not. Grandma Dowdel always has something up her sleeve whether it's a shotgun or a pie or a plan involving a shotgun and a pie. Dowdel is truly a wonderful character in a wonderful book.
