Two unlikely friends meet on a stormy night underneath the floor of a tilting house. A calico cat with babies in her belly and an old hound dog with a cruel owner. Once the kittens are born they must learn the most important rule: STAY IN THE UNDERNEATH! Gar Face is full of hatred toward everything including his dog. One of the two kittens, Puck, decides to go into the Open and Gar Face sees him! The mother saves his life but looses her own. Puck must then find his way back to his sister and trusted hound dog Ranger.
